The four-part series, the streaming service’s first French original series, premieres October 11th
Max’s first original French limited series The Confidante, a drama that revolves around the 2015 Bataclan terror attack, will arrive on the streaming service on October 11.
The Just Philippot-directed series is adapted from Alexandre Kauffmann’s book La Mythomane du Bataclan (The Mythomaniac Of The Bataclan), which chronicles the true story of Christelle “Chris” Blandin, a rock music fan who bonds with survivors of the November 13, 2015 terrorist attacks.
Blandin is played by actress Laure Calamy of My Donkey, My Lover & I, Call My Agent, and The Origin of Evil. In The Confidante, Blandin becomes a prominent member of a survivors’ association who tells members her friend Vincent was critically injured. Philippot’s series chronicles the fallout as group members begin to doubt Blandin’s accounts of the Bataclan Theatre attack.
Along with Calamy, the French cast includes Arieh Worthalter (Le procès Goldman), Annabelle Lengronne (Un Petit Frère), Alexis Manenti (Les Misérables), Ava Baya and Anne Benoît.
