The Pakistan Cricket Board restructured its selection committee, adding notable figures like recently retired Test umpire Aleem Dar, just hours after the national team lost to England by 47 runs in an innings despite reaching more than 500 runs in the opening innings.
After losing a two-Test series to Bangladesh previously, the Pakistani team was on an unbelievable home run heading into the Test in Multan. It was the first time a Test-playing country lost after scoring more than 500 runs in the opening innings, thanks to the defeat to England.

On June 6, 1968, 56-year-old Aleem Dar was born in Jhang, Pakistan with his height at 5 feet 8 inches. He is Noshaba Banu’s husband. Hassan and Ali, are their sons, and Jaweria, their daughter passed away from epilepsy. She was just seven months old when she died with her death being kept a secret from him by his family during the 2003 World Cup. Dar attended the Government Islamia College, Civil Lines, Lahore, Pakistan, to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities.
He he made $100,000 per year as an ICC umpire with him earning $5,000 per test match, $3,000 for an ODI and $1,500 for a T20 international, his net worth isn’t known.
Aleem Dar career
Aleem Dar used to play first-class cricket and is currently a Pakistani cricket umpire. He was a part of the ICC Umpires’ Elite Panel. Dar was nominated twice in 2005 and 2006, but he didn’t win the David Shepherd Trophy until 2009 and 2011.
From the award’s founding until 2017, only a select group of umpires namely Aleem Dar, Marais Erasmus, Richard Kettleborough, Kumar Dharmasena, and Simon Taufel were recognized with it. Dar played first-class cricket for Allied Bank, Gujranwala, Lahore, and Pakistan Railways teams as a right-handed batsman and leg-break bowler prior to becoming an umpire.
Aleem demonstrated his accuracy throughout the 2011 Cricket World Cup by winning all 15 of the challenges made against him through the Umpire Decision Review System.
He was chosen to be one of the twenty umpires to officiate games at the Cricket World Cup in 2015. He was announced as one of the sixteen umpires who would officiate matches in the 2019 Cricket World Cup in April 2019.
He became the third umpire to officiate in 200 ODIs the following month, in the second match of the 2019 Ireland Tri-Nation Series, and the first from Pakistan. After a 19-year tenure, Dar announced his resignation from the prestigious panel of umpires on March 16, 2023. He officiated his final test match as an Elite panel umpire on April 5, 2023.
