However, SARS have since confirmed news of the raid but did not reveal if they had contacted similar raids at her other properties as alleged.
MaMkhize reportedly owes SARS around R37 million in unpaid taxes. The South African has since established that the raid was done to preserve and secure assets from the businesswoman.
The taxman revealed that the raid was part of its “effort to combat tax evasion and criminal activity that undermines the country’s economy.”
