It’s almost time to check in to the White Lotus in Thailand. HBO has confirmed that the third season of The White Lotus will arrive in February.
Warner Bros. Discovery global streaming chief JB Perrette revealed the news during a during a tech and media conference on Tuesday. Perrette announced that HBO is also planning a spring 2025 premiere for second season of The Last of Us and summer debut for Game of Thrones spin-off Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. As for the long-awaited third season of Euphoria? It sounds like fans will have to wait until 2026.
“Our biggest tentpoles started to come back in rotation this summer with House of The Dragon 2, then we go The White Lotus which will come in the first quarter in February, then we go into The Last Of Us Season 2 in the second quarter, then we have a new Game of Thrones series, smaller scale series, that will come in over the summer,” Perrette said, via Deadline. “As we look even beyond that we’ll see the third season of Euphoria probably in early 2026, then we get back into House of the Dragon Season 3, so we’re now in a cadence of having at least two or three of our major tentpoles every year.”
Arriving even later is HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter TV series, which was previously targeting a 2026 premiere. The show, which is currently being cast, will instead debut in 2027. “As you look at ’26 and into ’27, you begin a 10-year journey on the Harry Potter series, which we’re super excited about,” Perrette said. “And, I’d argue, may be the biggest event by the time we get to that series.”
In July, Francesca Orsi, executive VP of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films, confirmed that Euphoria, which is helmed by Sam Levinson, would start shooting in early 2025. “I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January,” Orsi said in a statement. “We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”
Season 2 aired in 2022, but the show began facing delays after Angus Cloud, who played fan favorite Fezco, died of an overdose last year. Variety reported in March that the show’s season three script was facing challenges such as rewrites, which put the show’s return timeline up in the air. In a statement, HBO said at the time that the show would return without specifying any dates.
Last month, HBO Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys told Deadline that everything was on track with the series. “We are shooting the season, I have read the scripts, we’re happy, we’re moving ahead,” he said. “I know the show gets a lot of attention now because it has created some genuine movie stars, and they have various projects that they’re working on. But we are shooting this season, so nothing has changed.”
The White Lotus Season 3 stars returning cast member Natasha Rothwell along with new additions Walton Goggins, Leslie Bibb, Blackpink’s Lisa, Parker Posey, Francesca Corney, Nicholas Duvernay, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, and Jason Isaacs.
