Earlier, reports emerged online suggesting that a 34-year-old software engineer from Uttar Pradesh, Atul Subhash took his own life, leaving a 24-page s*icide note.

As aforesaid, a software engineer, Atul Subhash , who accused his wife and her relatives of prolonged harassment tragically took his own life. The late engineer from U.P. cited emotional distress and multiple legal cases as one of the contributing factor in his 24-page suicide note.
Reportedly, Atul Subhash was found hanging in his Bengaluru apartment with a placard stating, “Justice is due.” The tragic incident has sparked a widespread outrage online, with the hashtag “#JusticeForAtulSubhash,” trending as netizens are asking Justice for the man.
The 34-year-old software engineer died by suicide at his residence in Marathahalli, leaving a 24-page death note behind and also recorded a video before hanging himself in his room. The deceased Atul Subhash was from Uttar Pradesh and was an AI expert working in Bangalore. Atul worked at a private firm and was a director level executive.
Despite working at Accenture and earning her own money, his wife, Nikita Singhania was already receiving ₹40,000 per month as maintenance due to her greed. But she wanted an additional ₹2-4 lakhs and a total of Rs.3 crore to settle the case. She had also allegedly instigated Subhash to kill himself in both the court and on WhatsApp messages with him and also threatened to keep extorting money from his parents after his death. She has since deleted her Instagram profile which went by _nikita_singhania_.
Nikita and Subash had gotten married in 2019 and had a four year old son together who was living with Nikita. His wife’s father died of disease soon after his marriage but his wife got an FIR under sections of murder slapped on his family claiming he died of shock because of the demand of dowry. When Atul refused to give more money, his wife left the Bengaluru home with their son in 2021 after their marriage through a matrimonial website.
Atul has a brother Bikas Kumar who told police that Atul’s estranged wife had filed false cases against him and his parents and that he was mentally upset.
What Did the Su*icide Note Say?
As per various reports, the 24-pages suicide note, a mix of handwriting and typed sections revealed Subhash’s struggles with his wife, including allegations of extortion and manipulation involving his 4-year-old son.
As per the note, the software engineer was facing a total of 9 police complaints filed by his wife, Nikita Singhania, who’s working in Accenture, and her family. These accusations involve murder, dowry harassment, and unnatural s*x.

Charges Against Atul Subhash
Among the cases filed by Nikita and his family, a murder charge also involves linked to the death of Nikita’s father in 2019. Initially, Subhash’s wife claimed that her father passed away from a shock due to dowry demand of Rs. 10 Lakh.
However, during the course of cross-examination while hearing, Nikita admitted that the charges of murder against Atul were false, and her father had died due to heart-related ailments.

In addition, Atul’s note also emphasized Nikita’s escalating financial demands, including Rs. 2 Lakh monthly maintenance and a one-time settlement request that increased from Rs. 1 Crore to Rs. 3 Crore. He was currently paying Nikita who is an Accenture employee Rs.40,000 per month in maintenance.
He accused Nikita’s family of coercing him to fund lavish gifts and invest in her brother-in-law’s cloud kitchen venture. Atul recounted performing household chores and caring for their son while managing his professional responsibilities, only to be allegedly alienated from the child.
In a video posted on X before his death, Subhash criticized the judiciary and claimed, “A legal genocide of men is happening in India.”

The suicide note concluded with his last wishes, calling for live hearings of his cases to expose the alleged misuse of the legal system. Subhash’s tragic death has reignited debates about the misuse of legal provisions and the mental health challenges faced by individuals.
