Game show and reality TV fans are clamoring for more Deal Or No Deal Island. The sophomore season—which premieres Wednesday, January 8, at 8PM ET/PT on NBC—promises to be bigger and better than its predecessor. One reason for the show’s massive success is OG islander and Survivor legend Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano. His smart gameplay, witty commentary and sweet father-son type alliance with Aron Barbell won over audiences. Fans everywhere wanted to be part of the “Rob Mob.”
So how could there be a second season of the hit reality competition show without our beloved Robfather? There couldn’t be! He’ll be back to host the Deal or No Deal Island After Show with Boston Rob. Episodes will be available to stream on Peacock, NBC’s YouTube channel, and NBC.com every Wednesday following new episodes of the series, which will air at its regular time slot—Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC—beginning January 14.
Each week, Rob will sit down with eliminated islanders and enjoy a glass of ice tea (IYKYK). They talk about their failed strategies and the drama between competitors and watch never-before-seen footage from the show. In the teaser for the after show, Rob is shown giving the castoffs the business. “You made some massive—I don’t wanna call them mistakes—egregiously bad decisions,” says Rob with a laugh as he addresses a mystery reject. In another vignette, he asks two more anonymous players: “Are we gonna build a bridge, mend fences or are we gonna continue the war?”
With his long reality TV resume—which also includes The Amazing Race and the upcoming third season of The Traitors—Boston Rob is the perfect person to place the contestants in the hot seat after DONDI host Joe Manganiello and the Banker are done with them. Deal or No Deal Island After Show with Boston Rob couldn’t be better companion viewing.
