As per the announcement made by CBS affiliate KOLD-TV, Orsini’s passed away on December 16, as it was announced by her colleagues in an emotional life broadcast on Sunday.
Her co-anchor Tyler Butler told the audience with teary eyes, “Sad news to share with you, our beloved friend and co-anchor Ana Orsini passed away unexpectedly last week.”
Tributes Poured In
Ana was remembered fondly by her colleagues and viewers alike. Earlier, in a heartfelt note on Facebook, Tyler Butler, her co-anchor expressed his grief over the sudden loss of her friend.
He wrote, “It’s so horrible, so sudden, Ana was a force of nature. I keep thinking about how at times, I’d make a self-deprecating joke, and she’d snap, ‘Hey! Don’t talk about my friend like that!’ Her genuine care for everyone around her will be missed.”
One of her viewer shared similar sentiments, commenting under Butler’s post: “Her humor and spirit touched all who watched 13 News. Your chemistry with her was special, and she will be greatly missed.”
Obituary
In her obituary KOLD-TV 13 based out of Tucson honored the journalist, describing her as a person with “bottom empathy” who always championed the underdog. The news channel celebrated Ana for her warm mentorship, particularly to new and younger colleagues.
As per KOLD-TV, Ana Orsini was affectionately remembered as a “peanut-butter-M&M-loving, platform-Ugg-wearing, pink-or-purple-Stanley-toting ray of sunshine, even at 4:00 in the morning.”
About Ana Orsini
Born in Denver, Colorado, Orsini graduated from Texas A&M University in 2018 with a journalism degree and minors in communication and sports management.
Her career began in Lubbock, Texas, where she created a “Pet of the Day” segment to help shelter animals find homes.
Later, she spent 3 years in Medford, Oregon, covering stories like major wildfires and championing animal adoption initiatives.
In June 2023, Orsini joined KOLD-TV, quickly becoming a beloved presence both on-air and behind the scenes. She had a deep passion for rescue animals, which she incorporated into her work, and was devoted to her own rescue dog, Harley.
She is survived by her parents, two younger sisters, and Harley and the 28 year old news anchor was single and unmarried at the time of her death. In a statement to KOLD-TV, her family requested that she be remembered for the “bright, sunny person she was.”
