“Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all,” Urker wrote on Instagram alongside a photo fo the couple’s new daughter

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is officially a mom after welcoming her first child, a daughter named Aurora Raina Urker, with her boyfriend Ken Urker.

Urker announced the birth on Instagram on Wednesday, Jan. 1, sharing a photo of Blanchard holding their new baby. “Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all,” he wrote.

Blanchard and Urker first shared in July that they were expecting their first baby together after having rekindled their romance following her release from prison for her role in the murder of her mother and the subsequent separation from her husband, Ryan Anderson.

Blanchard was released from prison in December 2023 after serving seven of her 10-year sentence. She had married Anderson while behind bars and quickly moved in with him in the weeks following her release. But earlier this year, she noted that she started to feel “like a part of me was lost” in the marriage and ultimately decided to file for divorce. “I feel like I found that missing piece of myself that I always felt was lost and now reclaiming that back,” she told People. “It’s heartbreaking, because no one gets married to get a divorce. Processing those emotions has been hard.” The divorce was finalized just last month.

Following the end of her relationship with Anderson, Blanchard reunited with her ex-boyfriend, Urker, whom she initially met while in prison. The two initially connected after Urker began writing her letters.

The birth of her daughter comes as she’s continuing to process the 2015 murder of Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. Her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, fatally stabbed Dee Dee at her Springfield, Missouri home. Godejohn was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Blanchard was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
