Among the many memorable speeches at the Golden Globes last night, Kieran Culkin’s stood out after the actor admitted to feeling just a little tipsy as he accepted his award for Best Supporting Actor in a Feature Film.

“My wife and I did a shot of tequila with Mario Lopez,” the A Real Pain star quipped. “[I’m] definitely feeling that. The whole speech is gone,” he joked.

Culkin had appeared on the red carpet with Lopez earlier in the night, as the TV host interviewed him for Access Hollywood. Lopez happened to have a bottle of Casa Mexico on hand, the premium tequila brand that Lopez has been partnered with since 2019. Lopez even got Diego Luna and Cedric the Entertainer to take shots of Casa Mexico with him on air.

Available now at Reserve Bar in a reposado or anejo, Casa Mexico tequila is made with 100% Blue Agave grown in red volcanic soil, and is produced by what the brand says is one of the oldest tequila producers in Jalisco. Unlike some tequila brands, which purchase agave plants to pad their production lines, Casa Mexico says it produces, cuts and distills their own agaves to “ensure they are getting the best quality available.”

The brand also counts boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya as a partner, in addition to Lopez.

Culkin wasn’t the only one to mention Lopez on stage. At one point of the show, host Nikki Glaser offered a running tally of the night’s acceptance speech shoutouts, saying, “Cast and Crew in the lead with 11, followed by Moms with three. God, creator of the universe, zero mentions. And Mario Lopez, host of Access Hollywood, one.”

Lopez reposted Culkin and Glazer’s speeches to this Twitter, writing that “The 82nd Golden Globes were a huge success and with two shout outs, I’m honored!”

Culkin’s admission on the Golden Globes stage, meantime, came days after he revealed in a new interview that he once got Mark Ruffalo high on stage, when he swapped out an actual joint into the actor’s bag of prop joints.
