The latest teaser for the highly anticipated series introduces new characters

The latest teaser for Season Two of The Last of Us premiered during the CES tech conference in Las Vegas on Monday, while also confirming that the HBO show would release in April.

Although no set date has been announced, the trailer offered a look at some of the new characters from the video game that will be joining the series including Abby (played by Kaitlyn Dever), Dina (Isabela Merced), and Isaac Dixon (Jeffrey Wright). Season Two will also see stars Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie return, with Danny Ramirez and Catherine O’Hara also joining the cast for the upcoming installment.

The new clips kicks off with a siren going off as Abby holds a gun in her hand and walks down a dim hallway. As she looks over her shoulder, the camera cuts to a black screen as she’s heard saying: “It doesn’t matter if you have a code like me. There are just some things everyone agrees are just wrong.” After scenes of the infected slamming against a barrier and people rushing to grab rifles flash across the scene, the teaser ends with Ellie also walking down a similar hallway with her gun pointed ahead.

As a hint for things to come, the Season Two synopsis reads: “After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”

HBO previously shared a trailer to celebrate “Outbreak Day” back in September. Soundtracked to Pearl Jam’s “Future Days,” the two-minute preview featured the survivors’ safe haven swarmed by a flood of the infected.
