Australia is a long way from Nashville, but that hasn’t stopped the Wiggles from saddling up with some country friends for their upcoming album Wiggle Up, Giddy Up!, out March 7.
The beloved children’s band shared the title track as the first release from the record. It’s a two-stepping, hoedown-ready song featuring the rising country singer Dasha. “Wiggle up, boots on the ground/Wiggle up, go ‘round and ‘round/Wiggle up, boots on the ground/Giddy up down to Wiggle Town,” they sing over guitars, banjos, and fiddles.
Wiggle Up, Giddy Up! will include 32 songs, some of which boast appearances from Orville Peck, Lainey Wilson, MacKenzie Porter, Troy Cassar-Daley, Kaylee Bell, the Wolfe Brothers, and more. Country icon Dolly Parton will appear on two songs, one titled “Friends!” and the other fittingly named “We Will Always Be Friends,” in case the first didn’t make it clear.
“This is one of the most exciting projects we’ve ever been a part of, in fact, I’ve never spent so much time on an album before,” said Anthony Field, the blue Wiggle. “Country music is all about storytelling and connection. Combining that with The Wiggles’ fun and imagination and collaborations with these legendary country music artists felt like the perfect match.”
The Wiggles first went country in 2004 on their 19th album Cold Spaghetti Western. The record was similar in length with 26 songs, but didn’t pack in nearly as many featured artists. Wiggle Up, Giddy Up! lists Jackson Dean, Lucky Oceans, Morgan Evans, and the late Slim Dusty as additional guests.
“This wasn’t on your 2025 bingo card was it,” Dasha commented beneath the Wiggle Up, Giddy Up! announcement post on Instagram.
