The frightening vehicle attack at Magdeburg’s Christmas market was carried out by a Saudi Arabian psychiatrist named Taleb al-Abdulmohsenb aka Taleb A., according to German media.
According to accounts, Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, also known as Taleb A., is a 50-year-old physician from Hofuf, Saudi Arabia. Taleb, a psychiatry and psychotherapy specialist, is thought to have been residing in Bernburg, Germany, after relocating there in 2006. In 2016, he was granted refugee status.

A black BMW reportedly sped through revelers at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt, which is about 150 kilometres (93 miles) west of Berlin, on Friday, December 20, just after 7:00 p.m. local time (1800 GMT).

At least two people, including a toddler, were killed in the incident, and more than 60 others were hurt as the car sped through the crowd.
Regional premier Reiner Haseloff spoke to the press and called the attack “a catastrophe for the city of Magdeburg, for the state, and for Germany in general.”
The 50-year-old doctor was taken into custody by Magdeburg police after they claim that on Friday night, Taleb al-Abdulmohsenb aka Taleb A. crashed his racing vehicle into a crowded Christmas market. Two persons were killed and 68 others were injured in the shocking incident.

Who is Taleb al-Abdulmohsenb aka Taleb A.?
According to his social media profile, age 50 Taleb A, the suspect, is an ex-Muslim turned athiest, a harsh critic of Islam, and supports Alternative for Germany (AfD), a far-right German political party, which has an anti-immigration stance.
Taleb has been living in Germany since 2006 and is a resident of the eastern state of Saxony-Anhalt, where Magdeburg is located and was a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy and that he acted alone in the attack. He was believed to have rented a BMW which he used in the attack.
Taleb was born in the Saudi Arabian city of Hofuf in 1974 and secured a permanent residence permit for Germany in 2006 and was recognised as a refugee in 2016.
Taleb is wanted by Saudi Arabia on charges related to terrorism and smuggling girls from the Middle East to EU countries but Germany has refused to extradite him to Saudi Arabia and granted him asylum despite the charges against him.
The German authorities have not yet established an official motive for the attack by Taleb al-Abdulmohsenb aka Taleb A. According to media accounts, Taleb A. has already assisted former Muslims who had abandoned Islam, especially women, in leaving his native Saudi Arabia.
According to the media, a review of his social media posts showed that he backed conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, British anti-Islam activist Tommy Robinson, Elon Musk, the incoming “efficiency czar” of US President-elect Donald Trump, and Germany’s anti-immigration party AfD.
The unsettling assault is captured in a video that has gone viral on social media. It depicts a car speeding through a swarm of people moving between two rows of market stalls and was taken from above the market. People might be seen fleeing or being knocked to the ground.
The Reuters news agency has verified that the footage is, in fact, of the scene of the tragedy by comparing the trees, building shapes, and satellite imagery of the area.
