Sharon Stone is offering her help to the victims of the devastating Los Angeles fires. In a live interview with NewsNation Thursday, the Basic Instinct actress shared that she was making space in her home for friends in need of shelter, and leading donations of used clothes for those who’ve lost their homes.

“I’ve been taking friends into my home. I have families coming now to move in with us,” Stone told the outlet. “We’re setting up a place to be able to help people. We’re setting up beds and just room in the house.”

“We’re loading up trucks and taking everything we have over to The Coop, and we’re inviting our friends over to move in with us here. A lot of people are being evacuated,” she added.

Stone said that her sister and a publicist friend are working with a store called The Coop on Beverly Boulevard to offer shoes, clothes, bedding, and more items to folks affected by the fires. Stone joined the NewsNation broadcast alongside her son, Roan.

“We’re in a safe place, and I think we’re so blessed to be in a safe place when many aren’t,” Roan said. “I think all that we can do as people who are in a safe place is give back, especially to those who have lost everything.”

Thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes in different parts of Los Angeles, including in Pacific Palisades, Hollywood Hills, and Eaton Canyon. So far, more than 1,000 structures have been destroyed and at least five people have died.

Numerous celebrities have also lost their homes to the fires, including Paris Hilton, Jhené Aiko, and Heidi Montag. “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” Hilton wrote on Instagram.
